Congratulations to Greg Leslie from Tasman Machinery Services in Hope and Craig Ambrose of Motueka who won the two prize draws. Greg is pictured on the left with his new carpentry saw.

The exhibition gave guild members an opportunity to play with the extensive SILKY carpentry range. Superior carpentry and woodworking saws made in Japan. Members were also impressed with the new TWO CHERRIES chisels imported from Germany and ADGA folding wooden rulers.

"I was absolutely thrilled to receive the news of my win so a big thankyou to you and the company.  I shall really enjoy using these super tools as they look super quality and my husband loves good tools as well as he is a mechanic and knows the value of them in doing a good job.
I love gardening and they will be well used.  The friend I was with bought some loppers so she will be able to borrow my other items. "

Thanks again

Regards

SPONSORSHIP

The Silky Foxes - womens adventure racing team (September 2011)

Silex Tools sponsored the SILKY FOXES adventure racing team comprising Vicky Shelling, Ann Wicken and Janine Pomeroy to participate in the 2011 SPRING CHALLENGE (a womens only 6 or 12 hour adventure race comprising rafting, mountain biking, running, hiking, navigation and orienteering). This year the multisport adventure race was held in Blenheim.

The Nelson team entered in the "veteran" 6 hour race, and did us proud. They trained hard, managed to keep off the wine long enough and adopted a "long black with runny cream" as their secret training weapon. No multi-purpose SILKY hand saws were required - although they could have used one during a particular training session that left them bush bashing for a few hours.

After a gruelling 7 hours on race day, the SILKY FOXES came in second overall - out of a field of 120 teams. Thanks to the sponsors and race organisers - we had a fabulous day and magical journey to get there.

Rafting the Wairau from 6.15am until 8am ish. Beautiful. And thanks to the team who joined us ..... you were great!

Race start - 6am. Out the back of Renwick. Race starts with a 1km run in a wetsuit, tied together with a tyre tube....by far the worst part of the race.....
